SX3008F Fiberswitch will only work with 1000Mb SFP-modules, not 10G!

Model: TL-SX3008F

Hardware Version:

Firmware Version: 1.20.0 Build 20231011 Rel.42220

SX3008F fiberswitch, receiving signals from ER7412-M2 v1.0 2.5gig port via SFP ethernet adapter, ports working nicely with 1000Mbps SFP modules.

Bought the new MC420L media converter, SM5110-SR SFP+LC transceiver x 2, LC-single-mode fiber connecting two houses.

No lights on SX3008F, no connection with 10G modules, when swapping back to 1000Mps, it is all sweet and working.

Running Omada software controller on Windows with open-source Java Runtime Evironment, I see no option to adjust speed, Device menu has options Details - Ports - Clients -Statistics.

Port has an edit sign option. I only get the option of setting name of port and selecting profile.

Apparently newest firmware.

What is wrong?

Help.

802.3 ae only supports 1Gb and 10Gb.

Hi @Winterwhite,

Try going into the port override and verify/set that the Link Speed is 10G/FD on your ports.

I double checked everything, and I have somehow managed to get the multi-mode SFPs.

I don't think the fiber will auto negotiate, so Link Speed is the usual suspect if you see this again.
