Model: ER605 (TL-R605)
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version:

Hi.

I have a VM Superhub providing Internet connectivity. I have a TP-Link AX1800 wifi router connected to one of the ports and it's working as expected.
I've recently installed an ER605 which is connected to to an Omada controlled switch, which in turn connects to other Omada controlled switches and EAPs. The initial switch is connected to an Omada OC200. I have a PC connected to one of the switch ports and using a browser I can see all of the devices in the system, including the ER605 which has been adopted. With a MacBook connected directly to the ER605 I can see the entire setup via a browser, the same display as the PC shows

The ER605 is connected into another port on the superhub, but I can't get an Internet connection from it. I'm guessing that's because Port 1 (connected to the Superhub) is showing as disabled, but I can't see a way to enable it.

EDIT:

I've discovered what the issue was. It seems that the ER605 insists on having a fixed IP of 192.168.0.1 ( I haven't found a way to change that ) and if the Superhub is not in modem mode it also insists its IP is 192.168.0.1 so there's an obvious conflict and they don't play nicely, so the ER605 can't obtain an IP address. I've switched the Superhub to modem mode now, which could be a problem in the future because VM support won't deal with any issues with the Superhub unless it's in WiFi mode!

Another question: Does the ER605 provide PoE?

Hi @Wurlitzerwilly

Thanks for posting in our business forum.

No PoE.

Change the LAN settings. You can edit the VLAN 1 and its network parameters like subnet and gateway to avoid overlapped subnets with the modem router.

  @Clive_A

Thanks for the reply.

 I presume that the ER605 is only configurable for IP address, using a direct connection? I couldn't find a way to do it from the Omada controller. Musta missed something maybe. 😀

I figured WAN/LAN ports 1 & 2. Not configured correctly - my bad.

Bummer there's no PoE. One of my APs is right next to the router and extremely difficullt to cable to any of the switches. I've had to use a PoE adaptor, but it's inconvenient.

In LAN settings, you can edit existing VLAN and modify its LAN.
