Hello,

I am trying to setup my first VLAN but have no success so far.

My router has a default network with VLAN 1 and a guest network with VLAN 100. Every port has a native VLAN 1 and allows tagged VLANs. When I connect my laptop to any of those ports, it will work fine with both VLANs.

Then there is the SG3452P connected to one of the ports. I added the guest network to the VLANs and assigned it to all ports:

All ports use PVID 1 but should allow tagged VLANs:

But when I connect my laptop to any of those ports it doesn't receive an IP from the DHCP running on the router. Is there anything I am missing?

Thank you!

Hi @HTP.ProXy,

I'm stuck on your first statement...

My router has a default network with VLAN 1 and a guest network with VLAN 100. Every port has a native VLAN 1 and allows tagged VLANs. When I connect my laptop to any of those ports, it will work fine with both VLANs.

How does this work on both VLANs when every port's native VLAN is 1?

@D-C it will work with both networks. When disabling the VLAN ID on the laptop's network card, it will receive an IP from the default network and when I set the VLAN ID to 100 it will receive an IP from the guest network.
