Model: TL-SG3428XMP
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: 3.20

I have connected the switches as follows:

  • SX3016F: Port 1 = PVID 11 (untagged) & Port 28 = Tagged
  • SG3428XMP: Default settings (PVID 1, Tagged: VLAN 11 & VLAN 28)

Currently, when I connect a device to the SG3428XMP, I get VLAN 11, and the tagged port 28 is also working.

My question is: Do I need to update the PVID of the SG3428XMP based on the VLAN I will be using?

Hi @127.0.0.2,

In general, use the same PVID on both ends of the trunk ports.  You don't show the port settings where you device is plugged in, but that should have a PVID set to the VLAN it should use.  In the current config, I think any device connected to a port on switch SG3428XMP that has a PVID of 1 can hop to VLAN 11 on the SX3016F switch.
