Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.1.0 Build 20240830 Rel. 50868(4555)

Hi everyone,

Few years ago I needed a solution for WiFi roaming in my apartment and choice came to 2xEAP-225.
That thing got me into Omada stuff and now I have following the configuration:

OC200 V1    1.32.6 Build 20241101 Rel.41525
ER605 v2.0    2.2.6 Build 20240718 Rel.82712
SG2008 v4.20     4.20.1 Build 20240115 Rel.72847
SG2008P v3.20     3.20.1 Build 20240115 Rel.72847
EAP653V1    1.1.0 Build 20240830 Rel. 50868(4555)
EAP653V1    1.1.0 Build 20240830 Rel. 50868(4555)

All devices are on the latest firmware.

Issue I have for almost two years now is basically the same as all the others in these threads:

https://community.tp-link.com/en/business/forum/topic/174148

https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/forum/topic/597994
https://community.tp-link.com/en/business/forum/topic/589522

I read almost everything on this forum but nothing helped me solve the issue.

WiFi is totally unreliable and it looses internet connection towards the clients while LAN (everything wired) works fine.
I would surf the web on my phone and web page would not be able to load.
Phone reports losing internet connection, drops WiFi and after a minute reconnects to WiFi and all seems to be good.
It happens to all the devices in the household regardless of the manufacturer.
If in that moment I disable WiFi on my phone and re enable it immediately, everything would work for another 10 minutes.

One of my EAP635 is connected as POE through SG2008P, and other is standalone with independent PSU.

I have tried disabling all the advanced WiFi features (fast roaming, mesh...).
I have tried disconnecting one EAP but the one that is connected is still affected
I have tried replacing the cables.
I replaced ER605 v1 with ER605 v2 (V1 had to be replaced in warranty)
I have tried forgetting the EAPS and readopting them.
I have tried removing the OC200 controller (as someone in another thread suggested)
I did a hardware reset of every single Omada device and reconfigured them from scratch.
I did multiple firmware updates through these two years but nothing solved the issue.
I did a forget (reset) EAP635s and configured them as simple standalone AP-s, but problem remains.

One thing I noticed after these two years is that every time EAP would reboot (readopting, firmware update etc.) it would look like the problem is solved and internet dropping interval would be an hour or so. But longer the device would go without the reboot more often would the WiFi client get disconnected.
After cca. 10 days clients would lose internet almost every 10 min.

Finally I connected an old ASUS router in AP mode and guess what, WiFi works flawlessly.

Once more, I bought in the Omada system with a promise of "office/business" grade seamless Wifi (mesh) experience.

Does anyone have any other suggestions how to fix this?

Kind regards.

Hi MR.S

As I said above " I did a forget (reset) EAP635s and configured them as simple standalone AP-s, but problem remains."

Currently I have no roaming configured. Both AP-s are standalone and not a part of the Omada enviroment.

I configured both as simple stand alone Access Point but "no internet/disconnect" problem is still present.

ok. you are in stand alone, i have never used that so can't say much about settings there. but it is strange that you have such problems. i have an EAP653 myself but it is not used much so i don't have much experience with it, it is used in a lab and mostly just a pc that is connected when it is to be labed. but anyway can you show me the SSID settings you used on the controller, i also want to see advanced settings on SSID
