Model: TL-SG2428P
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 2.0.0 Build 20210607 Rel.64761

Hello,

I need to adopt a switch which is already in use and configured. Will i loose all the settings upon adoption, there are multiple VLAN's? It is 24/7 running system, i can not afford any blackouts...

Hi @Mindaugas_K

Thanks for posting in our business forum.

Yes. Will lose them. Even if it is a 24/7 system, you should consider the following options:

1. Get a redundant switch. Tune it and make sure everything's good. Instantly switch cables to the backup which will give 1 minute or so downtime.

2. Go budget-friendly, and inform the users that there is going to be a 1-hour downtime for maintenance purposes. You can pre-configure things on the controller and then adopt, tune and test it after that.

Also, note that some features are not available in the controller mode. You might wanna look out for that. The Controller User Guide would be helpful.
