Background:

This post provides a configuration guide to set up Policy Routing to split your network traffic for different purposes.

This guide uses Omada Controller as a demo. The same concept applies to the standalone, feature names would be the same.

This Article Applies to:

All routers with Policy Routing function.

Application Scenario:

Configuration Steps:

1. Select your Organization and choose your Site.

2. Go to Settings > Transmission > Routing > Policy Routing.

3. Create a new rule in Policy Routing.

In this setup, we have established two rules as follows. You can modify the Protocol, Source, Destination, and WAN port according to your requirements.

(You can drag them to re-order the priority. The higher the priority, the upper they place.)

4. Click Create. Then your traffic will forward based on the Policy Routing you created.

Verification:

1. In this test, we have two WANs. WAN = 192.168.2.192 and WAN/LAN1 = 192.168.0.123.

2. In order to offer detailed verification, we use Port Mirroring to give you a better look at how it works and how you verify it if you need to.

3. Wireshark results and verification.

On the left Wireshark, you can see that 192.168.2.192 is forwarding TCP. The picture on the right shows the WAN/LAN1 forwarding UDP.

The filter has been set to rule out the DNS.

Note:

You have different Types of Sources to meet your routing expectations. Choose one of them and you can create a new one by clicking Create. Or you can select the existing one. Profiles > Groups to see more groups.
