Model: EAP225-Outdoor
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

Hi , I Bought a MR400 AC1200 and inserted a Giffgaff SIM card in (Conneting via SIM only - no wired connection) - all is good bar on the outside of the building the wifi is just short by about 15 ft of where I need it to reach ! (typical)

Now this setup only gets used 2 days a month for events and we are remote from power (use a genny) , so my thoughts were buying a EAP225 - powering it up with a 12v> POE injector via a 12v battery and popping it half wayish between the router and where i need it to reach

So the EAP225 would just be powered (no wired ethernet signal)

Would this piggyback off the router signal and extend ? (Mesh preferably ?)

Thanks in advance - any other suggestions welcome BTW !

@Alanjo99 Hello,

Do you mean you want EAP225 to connect to your original router wirelessly first, and then expand your router's wifi? If so then you cannot do it in this way. EAP225 needs to be connected to the router to expand wifi. If you want to use it like this, you can consider buying an extra EAP225, creating a mesh, connecting the first EAP225 to the router by wire, and then connecting the second EAP225 to the first EAP225 wirelessly to achieve your purpose. Note that using mesh requires you to run the controller.smiley
