Hello, I have a problem, buy 2 CPE510 to connect two houses, which are at a distance of 0.87 km, I already configured one as an access point and the other as a client, but I cannot have a connection between them, I need help, they are both in the roof of the house, there are trees between them but I don't have a connection between them that I can do, this is the scene where I want to install them: https://drive.google.com/open?id=19Sl0NQa7iUKxi0MOIMxfVdbDZbVRaekA&usp=sharing

@PERCY, do you mean you have the CPEs in the roof or on top of the roof?

 

In general, a directional link needs a fresnel zone clearance. The first fresnel zone must be kept free from all obstructions to avoid interfering with the radio reception. Trees in between the link are obstacles, especially for 5 GHz EM waves.

@PERCY, I recommend setting up the link in the lab before mounting the CPEs on top of the roof. This way, you just have to align the CPE's antennas using the Antenna Alignment Tool. Try to find a mount position with free line of sight and use planning tools such as UBNT's AirLink calculator to find the ideal height over ground to ensure a 60% fresnel zone clearance.

 

As for the CPE's settings, use

  • 802.11n-only wireless mode,
  • 20/40 MHz channel width (20 MHz-only if there are too many interferences),
  • MAXtream TDMA disabled,
  • distance setting either the real distance + 0.1km or »Auto« setting to let the CPEs find out.
