Model: TL-ER6020
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.1.0 20150416 rel. 35252

Hello,

I'm trying to configure TL-ER6020 as DHCP server with more than 254 IP addresses but I always get an error "Operation Failed".

Current LAN configuration:

router IP: 192.168.1.1

subnet: 255.255.252.0

DHCP server:

start IP address: 192.168.1.35

end IP address: 192.168.1.254 --> When I try to change in 192.168.2.254 I got the "Operation Failed" error.

Any suggestions?

many thanks

Paolo

PS: I wrote to TP-link italian support and they answered to contact them by phone, but I can't get a line, the auto-answering system always says they are busy.

It may be caused by ER6020 V1 only support 256 addresses on DHCP server.

As I knew, V1 only support 256 addresses. It seems that ER6120 v2/v3 supports 1024 addresses.

@paolo-m

Check if it works with another subnet.

The subnet used ranges from 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.1.254

If you now want to expand the network and want to reach 192.168.2.1, the subnet 255.255.0.0 would have to be used.

If the router allows that, it should be a solution.

greeting
Daniel
