Hello,

i have installed a software controller in my VLAN20.

How can i adopt my SG2008P? I deleted the VLAN1 Interface from the switch at the beginning and only use it in my VLAN 20 (management).

The controller only finds the switch when i add the VLAN1 interface again.

Adopting does not work because the controller is in a 10.11.20.0 (VLAN 20) but the AP is in the 192.168.0.0 subnet. So i finds it but cannot adopt it: "Device Adoption Failed Because the Device does not Respond to Adopt Commands"

How to solve this? Do i have to use VLAN1 for every new device, even if i don't want to?

Devices have to be in the same subnet for adoption to work. It doesnt have to be vlan 1, BUT, if you dont use vlan 1 for management there might be an extra step of configuring the device in standalone to put it on the subnet in the first place. Most omada gear has the "management vlan" option in its standalone GUI.

Option 138 in your DHCP settings might also be helpful, putting the controller IP in there.
