Question about connecting two offices using TP-Link routers via VPN
Hello – while exploring a solution, I came across TP-Link Omada routers, but I’m a bit unclear whether I also need an Omada controller (or controllers) if I simply want to connect two offices located in different cities via VPN.
Each router would distribute internet within its respective office and act as a firewall (I’ll also need to configure some port forwarding). Additionally, the router at the main office should allow for a few employee VPN connections. There are approximately 10–15 users in the main office and 2–5 users in the branch office.
Wi-Fi is not needed at this point, everything runs over wired connections.
Can such a simple setup be configured and managed entirely through the web interface? And is the Omada controller only required if we plan to scale the system – for example, by adding Wi-Fi networks?
Also, could you recommend two rack-mountable devices that would be the easiest and most efficient for this kind of setup?
Thank you for your response – I’ve simply never worked with TP-Link Omada solutions before, but now there's a sudden need for one.
