Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: 3.20.4 Build 20230206 Rel.46080

Hey,

I have a problem with the SFP modules.

So this is my sitution, I have a TPLINK switch SG3452P and a PLANET switches (igs-6329-8up2s4, igs-r4215-24p4x), some SFP modules (SM5110-SR and SM311LM).

SFP ports of the SG3452P are 1000M and the SFP ports of the Planet switchs are 10G so i forced them to work on the 1000M coz im using 1000M SFP module, when i plug the transeiver, nothing change means that the switchs doesn't recognize the transeiver.

I tried to upgrade the firmawre, change the modules, change cables, nothing changes

Note : the sfp transeiver heats up when i plugged them.

Any help.

Hi @ghost124,

Few things could be the issue.

- The SG3452P can only use SFP modules so you can't use SFP+ modules like the SM5110SR.

- You I don't think SM and LR are compatible.

Two SM311LR should work; or use a DAC cable if the cable length is under 3 meters

If you use Gigabit, use both sides with Gigabit. Not 10G with a 1 Gbps.

Force the module to 1G does not mean the SFP module can be 1G compatible. The switch only controls the interface of the SFP port instead of the fiber module. Module is always individual.
