TL-R600VPN Routing Issues

Ok I picked up a few of these TL-R600VPN routers and managed to establish a connection to our Sonicwall hardware, problem is in order to allow 2 way communications I had to disable the SPI firewall on the TP-Link. If its enabled I can only talk from the TP-Link to the Sonicwall. Once the SPI firewall option is disabled then I can talk from the Sonicwall to the TP-Link.
Any thoughts on how I can get it working both ways without disabling the firewall?
