Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 2.1.2 Build 20230210 Rel.62992

Hello

I see some similar questions here and there but after many attempts I was not able to make this work correctly.

I have a simple network where the ER605 VPN router allow clients to connect to the (Building A) network. I was able to connect from (Building B) client to the VPN and access internet correctly but was impossible to access, for example the server.

The VPN is configured using OpenVPN and there are different networks, I add some captures of the current configuration.

What can be the reason?

Thanks

Have you configured any ACLs, try disabling them when testing. If you don't have ACLs, it's very strange that it doesn't work. You also have very old firmware on the router, upgrade to the latest. You have to do it in several steps, I'm going off my memory here now, but I think you have to have 2.2.3 before you can upgrade to the latest.

Hi @Vgrmb

Thanks for posting in our business forum.

Config's okay.

Do you ping the 192.168.2.1? What about 192.168.4.1?

I wonder if it is your firewall issue. If these IPs are pingable, that means the OVPN is up and running. No issue with the VPN or routing. It is your firewall on that server blocking the VPN IP to access it.

What If My Windows Computer Is Not Accessible or Pingable Over the VPN/VLAN Interface

Any Ping from the LAN network after the VPN router works fine (I use a test laptop not appearing on the schema abovea), but none of them works from the computer connected to the VPN tunnel.

The server have a fresh debian with any configuration on it so that is why I suspect the problem is on the VPN router.

I use a MacOS laptop to connect using OpenVPN connect but got the same result if I use a windows laptop.

Im starting to think than maybe the traffic from the laptop using OpenVPN connect is not going trough the VPN? frown

Works! I just update the router and all works as it was configured. Its true than I try to update it before, with the last version, but It fails and leave it to do it later, never expect than that will sort the problem. So yeah, I do 2.2.3 and then 2.2.6.

No ACLs setup at all btw

Thanks for the support smiley
