Hey there,

i plan to extend my WiFi network with an TP Link EAP-110. I also have the need to connect a device via ethernet. I already checked that it's possible to configure the EAP110 in a repeater mode, instead of an access point mode. However, i am wondering if - in that configuration - i am able to connect the ethernet port to a (POE) Switch and connect other devices via ethernet to the switch.

For a better understanding, please see my illustration below

Then main question is: If i configured the EAP-110 Outdoor in Repeater mode,
- can i power the device from a POE Switch and - at the same time -  connect additional devices to the PoE switch
OR

- is the ethernet port in that configuration only available as power port and NOT as data port?

Hi  @ElCansd

When the EAP110-outdoor configured as repeater mode, the LAN port of the EAP110-outdoor will work as a normal Internet source,  you can get Internet access from the LAN port.

And yes, you can plug a swtich to extend ethernet ports and all clients plugged into the switch are also able to access to the Internet.

As for the power supply question, I am not quite understand. But EAP110-outdoor only supports passive POE and you should use the included poe adapter to power it on.

BTW, the LAN port of the EAP110-outdoor is limited to 100M, if you are seeking for more bandwidth, you may consider EAP225-outdoor or EAP610-outdoor.
