Model: EAP615GP-Wall
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

Hello,

Looking at EAP615GP-Wall or EAP615GP-Desktop datasheets, both seem quite interesting in hospitality when you want to provide one WiFi AP per room.

When going this route, it is tempting to dedicate an SSID to each room when you want to avoid WiFi guest giving WiFi credentials to each other.

The question is how do you customise many EAP615GP-XXX devices without spending hours with controller's GUI or DeltaStream DPMS ?

When a EAP615GP-XXX is unpacked and plugged to a fiber uplink, how it is detected ?

Best regards

Hi  @Oliv2831

All EAP units will broadcast 2-3 default SSIDs, one for each band. And all of them are open. Once the EAP is plugged to Internet, wireless clients will be able to connect to the open wireless networks to get internet access.

To secure the wireless networks, or change the SSID names,  you need to manually change them, either via their standalone interface, or with an Omada SDN controller. This is unavoidable.
