Model: EAP225-Outdoor
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: 5.1.6

Hello There!

I have an EAP610 (V3 EU, FW 1.5.0) and an EAP225-Outdoor (V3 EU, FW 5.1.6) in my Mesh network and if the ethernet connection of the EAP225-Outdoor is disconnected for some reason (switch power failure for example) the AP switches to wireless mesh connection, but when the ethernet connection is reestablished it won't turn the wireless connection off. This is causing a loop in my network, overloading my router and it won't stop until I manually restart the EAP225-Outdoor AP.

Is there a setting in the Omada Controller to prevent the EAP225-Outdoor to switch to wireless mesh connection when the ethernet is disconnected?

I found a "loopback detection" function in the EAP610, but not in the EAP225-Outdoor. Maybe this has something to do with this problem?

The version of my Omada Controller is the latest when I write this post, 5.15.8.2.

Thanks in advance!

Hi  @Rapid

You can disable mesh site-wide.  Open the site, navigate to Settings->Site Settings(General Settings), Scoll Down to Wireless Features->Enable and un-check it.

Hi!  @D-C !

I don't want to disable mesh. I set it up, because I need it.

I want to disable the function when a wired AP connects to the other AP through wireless connection to maintain the mesh system when the wired connection fails or I would like to see a firmware update for the EAP225-Outdoor, so it would turn off the wireless connection when the wired connection reestablished.

My network is malfunctioning and needs manual intervention when the wired connection of the EAP225-Outdoor fails for any reason then reestablished.

The problem appeared when the switch connecting the EAP225-Outdoor to the network through wired connection lost power for around 10-15 minutes and then powered back up.

The second time when this happened took me 2 hours to rule out every other device in my network and the loopback caused network-wide connection failures.

First time I just unplugged/replugged every device at once, because I didn't have the time to debug my entire network.
