Model: ER605 (TL-R605)
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 2.2.6 Build 20240718 Rel.82712

Can an ER605 router be configured to wake up all of the computers on a network?  I currently have WOL working beautifully with two PCs on ports 7 and 9, but I can't seem to get broadcasting to work.  The Teamviewer WOL documentation contains this passage:

In order to be able to wake up all computers in the local network, set
up port forwarding as described in the router manual from an
incoming UDP port (e.g. 9) to the broadcast address of the local
network (this often ends in ".255"). This configuration makes it
possible to wake up all computers in the router's local network that
have been configured according to the directions mentioned above.

If the local network is configured with 192.168.1.0 and the subnet
mask 255.255.255.0, then port forwarding must be configured from
UDP port 9 to 192.168.1.255:9.

There doesn't seem to be any place to put the broadcast address in the virtual server section of NAT in the router.  You can't put a value like 192.168.1.255:9 into the internal port and putting 192.168.1.255 into the internal server IP doesn't work. There's nothing about broadcasting to multiple PCs in the TP-Link WOL documentation.  So is it a non-starter?

Hi  @Art_S

WOL is not a feature on the router. In the LAN, if you have a server to wake other computers up, that's doable. It does not stop the broadcasting or unicast magic packets.

  @Art_S

Based on the instruction from your post it looks like they would like to achieve something like this:

OFC you would have to choose WAN interface as well.

So in the external and internal port you put the port of WOL from TeamViewer (9 in your example), and in Internal IP you put the broadcast IP address.

I have no idea if that will work as intended. I just did what was in your screenshot ;)

Cheers.

@RaRu   I tried that already. (I never solicit forum help until all self-help options have been exhausted.)  When I did, both computers set up with their specific IP addresses stopped working

Yeah, I guess I'll just have to configure the two computers that can be woken up via WAN to wake up the other computers over LAN connections. I was hoping that I could make them all accessible via WAN.
