ER-605 v2 latest FW?
ER-605 v2 latest FW?

Where can one find the latest FW for this router? Is there anything recent?
This forum has a very bad layout to find such a thing, also the support site may or may not be up to date, stuff gets posted on here that's often not available form the support site.
Can someone at TP Link please advise, is the V2 now end of support; where is the latest FW?

Hi @words,
I'm not a TP-Link employee, but the latest firmware is ER605(UN)_V2_2.2.6 Build 20240718. The same version is on the global site and the us site; the various sites can lag with the updates so never hurts to check global and/or your region. The forum is not where I usually go to search for firmware unless I'm interestd in the "early release" (not officially supported) version, but here's the "How to..." on that.
Regarding EOL for the er605v2 see: https://community.tp-link.com/en/business/forum/topic/695878

@D-C thanks for the reply, ok I thought there may be some newer FW as that is from July.
In any case, I'm trying to upgrade my v2 from 2.2.4 Build 20240119 Rel.44368 and it's giving me an error
"Upgrade Failed. Please check the upgrade file and try again."
Tried to download the file several times, there are no errors unzipping, etc.
@Clive_A can you please assist.

When you upgrade FW it's important to choose proper REGION on download page that matches your Gateway's region.
If you are not sure which region is proper for your device, go with GLOBAL region's version.
If you still have a problem (even with GLOBAL update), try to go version by version upgrade. Since you are on 2.2.4 now, try to upgrade to 2.2.5 first:

And then to 2.2.6.
Cheers

Maybe try a factory reset on the er605, connect your computer w/ the firmware directly to the er605 it and use the web UI to do the update.

@D-C I will open a support ticket.
I'm hoping the FW upgrade will help with the OpenVPN server issues I keep having.

I tried to create a new post in regards to the OpenVPN issues I'm having and this board keeps deleting the post...
I tried twice, and after hitting post and that it was created I get this:
When I go to my posts, they are both listed there, if I click on either one it takes me to this weird error just above....

@words, the forum servers are sick. Refresh/resubmit eventually work. I thought it was just me or my region, but seems others having same issue so I started the thread below so maybe someone can fix it... assuming they can even see the post. š

Hi @words
Thanks for posting in our business forum.

Well I've tried both. The Canada site doesn't even have 2.2.5 and from the global site I've tried both, going to 2.2.5 first, before 2.2.6 but gives me the same error. So not sure what's up...
Try the global site.
As D-C wrote, you might need a reset. I am not sure if there is something that corrupted the firmware upgrade. But it looks like something is not right. HTTPS and follow the version order to upgrade should be safe and smooth. If this does not work, suspect it's the current config.

@Clive_A I've opened a support ticket on this. A firmware update should not require a total reset of a device, that is a bit extreme no? Is this common for business products, expecting a customer to reset their devices to do a simple FW upgrade? :)
