How can I prevent these loops?

There is an EAP245 on port 9 and an EAP610-Outdoor on port 17.

It seems that one of the two devices decides to simply connect to the other via MESH, which apparently leads to the LOOPs mentioned.

What bothers me a bit when troubleshooting, however, is:

How do I find out in the LOG which problem comes up first and causes the second one?

Does blocking port 17 cause the EAP610-Outdoor to connect to the EAP245 via WLAN, which leads to the LOOP, or does the LOOP cause port 17 to be blocked?

Is there a way to prevent the 2 EAPs from connecting to other EAPs via WiFi? The important thing is: The EAP610-Outdoor is a mesh master for an EAP225-Outdoor

Hi  @AngelK

This is because the EAP610-outdoor couldn't detect the Ethernet connection, so it was trying to connect wirelessly.

Please change a better quality cable for the EAP610-outdoor for port 17.

Wish you a happy life and smooth network usage!

  @Vincent-TP,

this is Ubiquiti TOUGHCable.
We used more than 10.000m from this Cable at work for outdoor APs...

But... You are right. I'll pull a neu cable and see what happens.

Nevertheless, the question remains as to how to set mesh usage in Omada only for (on) certain devices.

Other manufacturers offer this option as a general setting, or per AP if one is to deviate from the norm.

Maybe i just can‘t find it in Omada...
