Model: EAP610-Outdoor
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.1.3

I've purchased an AX1800 Access Point as an outdoor access point, to extend the range of the Google Nest Router (mesh wifi) in my home to the outdoor area.

The range is great, no issues there.

But when I am configuring the Access Point to act as a wifi repeater, and it lists the SSIDs that it finds, it does not list the SSIDs from the Google Nest (there are 2 networks that it broadcasts). It can see the Starlink wifi network, but that's it.

Any idea why the AX1800 can't see the SSID from the Google Nest? Every other range extender (including some lower end TP Link devices) can see the SSIDs. But the AX1800 cannot.

Hi @BJRYamba,

The Nest Router could be using a 5GHz channel that the EAP610 doesn't support. Try setting the Nest Router's channel to be between 36-64 or between 100-128.

Solved -

Google Nest Routers don't allow you to select the channel.

AX1800 Access Points don't allow you to select SSIDs in the "5G-2" channels (in the network tools part of the Omada app you can see them, but just not select them when configuring the access point...).

The Nest Router was using channels in 5G-2, so I had to switch to 2.4GHz. Not what I wanted, but it worked.

@BJRYamba, I had similiar issue with wireless bridge to a Verizon router.  The Verizon router has an option to enable/disable the two 5GHz radios independently.  Maybe that is an option on the Nest Router, otherwise shame on Google!
