Model: TL-SG116E
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.0.0 Build 20230505 Rel.70817

Yesterday I received a new TL-SG116E from Amazon.  I live in Spain but the box indicated the unit was from Germnay.  The hardware version is 2.20 and the firmware version is 1.0.0 Build 20230505 Rel.70817.

Naturally, I checked the download site to see if the firmware was current.  Unfortunately, all the download sites that I checked (Spain, Germany, and the Global site) are terribly out of date and don't even show my firmware version!

My recommendation to Tp-Link is to PLEASE update your sites and keep them updated.

Local support team!  Spain?  Germany?  Maybe Tp-Link for the global site?  Products purchased in Europe from Amazon usually come from Germany and I do not speak German.  There should be someone in charge of all the download sites and the sites should be coordinated.  Otherwise, it is a mess. Fortunately, in this case, the switch is universal (UN) and the firmware is newer than anything posted anywhere.

If you download it from Spain, contact the listed support team on the Spanish website.

The forum and global website is under the HQ control. Rest of the websites are not within our reign. Each single TP-Link sub company is an independent entity and support and maintenance is done by them locally. They are autonomous and responsible for the profit and debt.

To learn the latest firmware regarding a wired product, we always recommend you to visit our global website. Wireless products, your local website and they would update the wireless product timely due to it involves the regulations.

This is also how most company works. Don't find it absurd but it is true.

Thank-you for the detailed information on the support sites.  I have always used the global site for firmware downloads because it is always more up to date.  The local sites do tend to lag behind in keeping things current.

WRT the global site, the latest firmware for the TL-SG116E is not posted for hardware version 2.20.

Based on the global website, there is no further firmware provided.

The pre-installed firmware 2023 is the latest one which is the conclusion after I searched in the firmware database.
