TL-SG3210XHP-M2 firmware update issue
TL-SG3210XHP-M2 firmware update issue
Hello. I'm stuck. My TL-SG3210XHP-M2 v1's are running 1.0.15. Got a notification on my controller (5.15.8.1) that 1.0.16 was available. Attempted to update and it failed. Post failed update switches showed disconnected in controller but did appear to be functioning. Had to power cycle them to get them to connect to the controller. Came to forum and saw similar reports and saw to downgrade to last available on the support website and then update.
Downloaded 1.0.13 and attempted to apply it via the Device->Config->Manage Device->Custom Upgrade but that failed saying it an invalid file. Switches showed disconnected after that but seemed to be functioning and I had to power cycle them to get them to connect to the controller.
Then I uploaded the firmware via the Global View->Firmware->Upload Firmware for Upgrade screen and scheduled the upgrade from there. This also failed, resulted in disconnected status on the controller and a power cycle to reconnect.
Advice?

Manual upgrade by uploading the firmware; does it not work?
Like what I recall, there was a successful case.
SG3210X-M2 - After Firmware-Update to 1.0.5 (and Reboot), Switch is Disconnected
Correct. I tried the previous version and even the version before that from the support site and both failed to apply.
@gics did you try downgrading?
Possible to remove it from the controller? And done it via standalone? Not sure if that's the controller stopping it.

The error when trying to downgrade is:
Upgrade Results
Failed (1)
083200-SG3210XHPM2 upgrade failed: The upgrade file is invalid. Please select a correct file.
I was waiting to hear back from you guys after the remote support session we had. Were y'all able to test it in your lab and confirm that forgetting the device and doing it in standalone resolved it?

The downgrade way is discovered by me. The dev knows about this and we basically know the direction of this problem is about the pull-off firmware.
For the reason and cloud log, we have not located them.

Update:
It is resolved.
Solution:
As recommended, I forgot the first switch after setting up an old SG2008P and migrating the connections to it. After it was reset I logged into it in standalone mode and was able to successfully downgrade it to 1.0.12 from 1.0.15. Then I re-adoped it and was able to successfully update it to 1.0.16. I then configured it like the second switch, migrated the connections, forgot the that switch, repeated the downgrade in standalone mode, re-adopted it, and was able to update it as well.
I'm just glad I had that SG2008P laying around, otherwise it would have been way more disruptive. Anyway, thanks for the help!

you will have to Forget the device from the controller. Loginto it in standalone mode. Downgrade the firmware there. Then you can re-adopt and update to .16.

Okay, I did manage to downgrade after forgetting the switch. But I still can't update to 1.0.16 after readopting. Bummer!
