Model: VIGI C540V
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 2.0.3 Build 240512

Hello,

Is it possible to configure the auto-tracking feature of the VIGI C540V to work only within a specific area of the image, similar to the other detection features?

My camera partially faces a street, and it keeps tracking people passing by.

Thank you.

Hi @sparkplug

Thanks for posting in our business forum.

Try to set the detection zone on the camera for Human Tracking.

How to Use Motion Detection Function of My VIGI Camera in VIGI App

What do you need PTZ for if you don't wish it to continue to track the human?

If you enable target track, then it should track the target within the FOV. If you wish it to quickly fall back to the default position, you should consider the parking mode.

Thank you for your reply.

I’ve attached a screenshot of my camera settings to make it easier to explain.

Auto Tracking is enabled, and the camera is configured to park at a preset position.

Human detection is set to a specific detection area, but the camera still tracks people walking outside the red area.

I’d like the camera to only auto-track when a human enters the red area and stay parked at the preset position the rest of the time.

@sparkplug yep observed EXACT same behaviour, it looks like a software bug. The zone is set but it stll detects humans outside of the zone, mine is similar but mine is more of a straight line trying not to pickup people on the street outside of the front garden.

I get that when PTZ is actually actively tracking a target it will not be able to use zones (and might then falsely track a target outside of the zone whilst it is waiting to be parked), however when its not moving at all and hasn't been tracking mine is also ignored the defined zones and sees humans outside of the area.  Causing way too many false triggers at the moment.

I also notice the PTZ can't turn the camera around if someone walks under it, but assume that is a seperate bug that we need to raise.

Keen to see this fixed.

What would be your firmware of the camera? Model is the same?
