Hi guys,

I connected my office pc to my vpn server at home because I want to have a schedule backup of my office pc to my pc at home.  I created the VPN and started working but after several hours the connection drops from my office side.  Can you please tell me what I need to do to keep it steady 24/7?

I can transfer files without any problem until the connection drops automatically.  Can you please help.  The only thing that is different is that after a certain time the office pc the screen block and I need to enter the password again to unlock the screen, but that didnt interfere with the oter computers connected to that one at the office.

Hi @AngelaGarza

Thanks for posting in our business forum.

Does your office have a packet monitor or inspection?

Is it possible that your network is unstable causing a brief drop and reconnection or the office network cuts off the VPN as it thinks is not permitted?

As long as you see the IPsec tunnel displayed on the insight, you are connected fine.

That's more of a Windows question you asked.

Not sure what you mean by that.

If you need a client to be available 24/7, you gotta make sure it does not enter sleep and hibernation mode. That's the least thing you should do for it.

If the program/service for the VPN is not killed, it should not disconnect.
