Model: EAP690E HD
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.0.1 Build 20221114 Rel. 62130

Hello,

I have a strange issue with the mentioned AP. After a power loss for example the AP will not boot up correctly via PoE. It starts provisioning and then disconnects and is shown offline in the controller. I have to disconnect and reconnect it several times. Sometimes the AP will then start working again. If not i have to completely hard reset it and re-adopt it from scratch. After that it works completely fine until the next power loss.

Things I tried already:

- new cables

- shorter cables

- PoE injector

My Hardware setup is:

Switch: SX3206HPP v1.20

Cable: 10M CAT 10 Network cable

AP: EAP690E HD(EU) v1.0

I wonder if i bought just the wrong AP because it seems other APs just work fine.

  @Florian-T

Do you test other APs in the same location as this one? Also, do you make sure there is enough power to this AP? What is the frequency of the drop? The unit seems to consistently lose power.So, it is quite unstable?

I have 2 EAP783 on the same switch which is a SX3206HPP v1.20 This switch has a power budget of 200W according to the specs. The other EAPs are working fine. The EAP690E HD is not working after a reboot of the switch. After several trials it starts to work again after tedious fiddling. I do not understand what the problem is because the switch supports 802.3af/at/bt PoE++ which is needed for the EAP690E HD.

Also in addition: I have to forget the device and re-adopt it with a powersupply connected. I have to do this 2-3 times until successful. Then i can reconnect it the old way on the place with the cable it always had and it just works fine with PoE++ until the next reboot.
