Tapo switch schedules suddenly stopped workin
The schedules on all my Tapo S210 all stopped working overnight 2 nights ago (13th August 2024) I recreated the schedule on one and it started working again, so I shall redo them all, but it's very annoying that I have to check them individually.
Has anyone else had this problem?
Has there been a firmware update that broke the schedules?

This situation is rare. Was there a power outage or internet breakdown? Did you try to disable and re-enable the schedule entries, does it help?
Generally, schedule exceptions are mainly caused by incorrect device time. For example, the device fails to reconnect to the internet after power failure, resulting in the inability to calibrate the time.

@Wayne-TP The advice is basically do a factory reset of the switch... Which is a cop out!
I thought I had solved it by remaking the schedules, which worked once, then they failed again this morning!
Notably, other schedules on plugs are working fine, schedules on light strips are working fine, schedules set through automation are working fine. Just schedules set locally on the S210 switch are failing!
The annoying thing is, schedules set directly on the switch are supposed to be the most reliable and independent of internet failure, yet the ones I have created through automation (so that I can have a rule to disable them) and rely on a stable internet connection are actually the ones that work! The problem with this is I now have dozens of rules, there is no ordering or organisation in the app for rules, so you just have to scroll through them all to find them 😔
I'll factory reset one of the switches and leave the other one and see what happens.

How long have you been using the Tapo S210 switches? Was the last time the problem first appeared?
Please record the exact time when the problem reoccurs. What's your time zone?
And please try to disable and re-enable the schedule entries, check if that helps.

Hi,
I've been using the S210 switches for Months now (Probably 6 months)
The switches kick off heating boilers, so the schedule is set as:
Switch 1
On 07:00
Off 11:00
On 19:00
Off 23:00
Switch 2
On 06:00
Off 10:00
On 19:00
Off 23:00
They have an automation that switches them off when they get to a specific temperature, so the "Off" schedule is a failsafe that never gets used.
You notice in the morning when it doesn't work as there is no hot water! I disabled the schedules then re-enabled them and they worked for one day then stopped.
I've given up now and put them as Automations and they seem reliable there.

What's the rated power of the boiler?
To assist with this case, a specialist will help to follow it up through email, please check your inbox later and confirm.

@Wayne-TP it's a 12v system, the switching current is milliamps.
ive started using automations for the schedules, this seems more reliable, but I have had them fail randomly now as well... I'm beginning to wonder if the battery is low in the switch! The only problem there is that I can't seem to find the battery status in the app ☹️

This doesn't seem usual. Possibly a issue with the switch. You may report this situation with the specialist with email.
