Configuration Guide Masking Your IP Address: Setting Up a Full Tunnel VPN Connection (PPTP/L2TP/OpenVPN/WireGuard)
Background:
This post provides a guide on how to make the VPN client connect to the VPN server to mask the real IP address (full tunnel). Or use the remote proxy gateway to access the Internet.
This Article Applies to:
All routers with the supported VPN types.
Configuration Steps:
1. PPTP/L2TP VPN
Go to Control Panel > Network and Internet > Network and Sharing Center > Change Adapter Settings, then you will find the PPTP/L2TP VPN adapters.
Right-click the adapter > Properties > Networking, double-click Internet Protocol Version 4 > Advanced, and then you will find the Advanced TCP/IP settings for the VPN.
2. OpenVPN
While you export the file from the OVPN server, please make sure you have chosen Full Tunnel.
You are not allowed to change the access type on the client software.
3. WireGuard VPN
Go to the WireGuard client settings, and set up the AllowedIPs as 0.0.0.0/0.
