Model: VIGI NVR1016H
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.1.0 Build 240507 Rel.77310n

Hi there

Since binding my NVR (VIGI NVR1016H(UN) 1.0 + my cameras (VIGI C330) to my TP-Link account, I am no longer able to live view my cameras using the local account within the Vigi Security Manager Windows application.

When using my online TP-Link account within the VIGI Security Manager Windows application, live view says "The network is unstable.(-3)".

I have no issues live streaming from the VIGI mobile app on iPhone (both on my local network as well as remotely) so the issue appears to be isolated to the VIGI Security Manager windows application.

If I unbind the NVR + Cameras from my TP-Link account, streaming locally on the VIGI Security Manager Windows application works as expected. This points to the Windows application not being able to live view the cameras when they are bound to a TP-Link account.

Please could this be looked into as to why one cannot live view cameras using local account if they are bound to a TP-Link account?

  • My PC is on the same network as my NVR and cameras
  • My internet is high speed fibre libe (1Gbps) without any issues as streaming remotely from the mobile app works fine
  • There is nothing blocking it locally as if I unbind my cameras and NVR from TP-Link account and use a local account only, it works fine
  • There is no way to stream live view using the VIGI Security Manager Windows application locally once binding NVR + Cameras to a TP-Link account
  • If I unbind the NVR + Cameras from my TP-Link account in order to stream live view locally, I am then not able to access them from the VIGI mobile application

This appears to be the same issue as Network Unstable on Windows VIGI app - Business Community (tp-link.com) which looks to have never been resolved

Regards

Stephen

Hi Clive

Thanks for the reply.

I have tried the Process Hacker you mentioned and can see the connection is killed shortly after saying Established.

Looking at one of the remote addresses: ec2-52-19-10-57.eu-west-1.compute.amazonaws.com, a ping to this gets a Request timed out as well as ec2-52-51-22-112.eu-west-1.compute.amazonaws.com.

I have tried fully disabling the firewall and still see the same behavior.

This is what I see for a brief period of time when the connection is established:

It appears the host is not available or is rejecting connections as the same behavior occurs if I try with or without firewall disabled.

Stephen

Common servers would disable the ICMP. Which you would see a request timeout but this does not mean the server is down.

If they show up quickly and get disconnected, I think it is a network issue.

Can you try your computer on a cellular WIFI? Use your phone as the hotspot and share the WIFI with the PC. Check if it can work properly. Or find a different computer in different network, maybe the office computer and check if the VSM on the computer can display the stream properly.

That would be the most effective way to verify this.

Hi @Pigrat

Thanks for posting in our business forum.

If possible, you may run a Process Hacker 2 to view the network status.

As I view the live stream from a remote camera system,

Local access means LAN is fine. It does not mean it can connect to the remote VIGI server.

As the picture showed above, the remote address should be the VIGI server to which you connect and view the live stream.

Check if this connection can stay. As you can see it is established and I have a live stream.

If this is not established, you should check the firewall and related settings. It should be a connection problem to the remote server.

  @Clive_A

Hi Clive

Thanks for the quick response.

I tried this on another PC on the same network that has never had the VIGI Security Manager installed yet. It worked fine after being prompted to allow access.

It seems localised to my main PC. I am overdue for a clean Windows install anyway so will give that a try.

I am also able to make use of the web portal connecting directly to the NVR for now after adding a host entry.

Thanks for all your help, I really appreciate it smiley

Regards

Stephen
