Model: ER7212PC
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 5.9

Hi,

I am looking to buy an ER7212PC with 2 EAP245/EAP265 APs. Since those have an extra LAN port, I was wondering if it is possible to set it up as an IPTV port, rather than an internet port?

If not possible with those specific APs, are there any other that support this?

Limitations:

- I have only 1 LAN cable between rooms, so I need to "carry" the IPTV packets from the router to the AP and set up its spare LAN as an IPTV port

- I would like to avoid having to buy a second switch for the room with the IPTV for this

@slavd The Omada AP's support VLAN and with the two ports you have, yes then you can use the AP as you would a managed switch. Meaning that one port is set up as a "trunk port" and the other is set up with the VLAN ID required by the IPTV box.

And you don't need to have the ER7212PC for this, you can use any router/firewall and switch solution as long as they support VLAN. The Omada controller software that you use to set things up can run on a laptop, Raspberry pi or virtualized.
