Model: OC200
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 5.13.30.20

I'm trying to update my ER605 with firmware 2.2.4 and it keeps failing with this message:

[Failed]Failed to upgrade 50-91-E3-44-05-26 to firmware version 2.2.3 Build 20231201 Rel.32918 online. Please check your network configuration and make sure the device can access the Controller's HTTPS management port.

First, the error message seems to indicate that it's attempting to upgrade to the firmware version it's already running, unless I'm misinterpreting.  Regarding the rest of the message: the HTTPS management port of the OC200 is 443, which I think is correct.  My configuration is simple: an ER605 with an active WAN connection connected via LAN to a POE switch, with the OC200 and a laptop also connected via wired.  What do I need to do to enable the ER605 to access the OC200?

I've already tried downloading the firmware and doing a manual update.  It gives the same error.

Hi @xlurkr

We have troubleshooting steps when you fail to upgrade the firmware via controller. Please refer to the troubleshooting steps and try again.

Thanks for responding. I'm trying to follow the troubleshooting steps, and I'm asking for help to do so. Here's what the steps say: Make sure your port 443(hardware controller) or 8043(software controller) is open and accessible from target device. If it is not open, you are not able to upgrade. As I said in my message, the configuration page for my OC200 says the HTTPS configuration port is 443. How can I "make sure it is open and accessible from the target device?" -Tom

Update: I gave up.  I unadopted the ER605 from the OC200 and updated the firmware the hard way.  Then I readopted it, and a) it didn't fix my "no WAN status reported" problem that I documented elsewhere and b) it got stuck the the adopting loop that others have documented elsewhere, which kept causing it to fail to give my devices valid DHCP addresses when they expired, and severed their WAN connections.  So for the time being, I can't include my ER605 in my small OC200 network, even though both are now running the latest firmware.  That sucks.  I guess I have little choice but to keep trying new firmware versions as they come out.
