EAP653 in Standalone Mesh
EAP653 in Standalone Mesh
Hi,
I had a good working Standalone Mesh Network with two EAP245 V3.
I upgraded to EAP653 V1.
I wanted to configure the 653 the same way i configured the 245. But the Omada App doesn't find my Master 653.
- Yes, I'm connected to the Masters WiFi.
- Yes, both 653 are on the newest firmware and reset to factory default.
Is Standalone Mesh not possible with these devices and I need a OC200?

@MR.S You are right.
I picked up a Raspi 3b and installed Raspibian bookworm on it. Then docker and portainer and tried to deploy the docker container omada-controller from mbentley.
It freezes my Raspi and won't work.
So now I have to decide if I order a Raspi 4b or switch my APs to Ubiquiti.

Yes, I said that you should use raspberry pi4 or 5 with minimum 2gb ram, raspberry pi3 has too little memory, as for ubiquti, I reckon it's unifi you're thinking of. it won't solve your problem, it requires about the same controller hardware as omada. I also didn't think the access points for unfi were as fast as TP-Link, the advantage of unifi is that they only have one version and they are updated.
