EAP653(EU) v1.0
EAP653(EU) v1.0
Hello colleagues,
i have a problem with one of my EAP653´s (all others are working fine).
Every 4-6 days no devices can connect to all of the network SSID´s - devices get no IP.
As soon as i connect to one of the other AP´s, it´s working.
When i restart the AP everything is working fine for the next few days.
Another EAP653 is also working on this Switch and doesn´t have these problems.
Any idea what could be the cause of this?
Device is about 3-4 months old and the problem is since then.
Thanks

Hi @Hans1234,
It seems that you're having the memory leak issue on the EAP653.
TP-Link has provide a Beta firmware to fix the issue urgently, please check the following post for details.
EAP653 Becomes Unreachable Or Clients Fail to Connect SSIDs After Upgrading to 1.0.9 Build20230814
You may take your time to upgrade the beta firmware and confirm the issue you encountered has been resolved.

Hello @Hans1234,
Thank you for taking the time to report the issue to our community!
May I know how many clients connect to this EAP653 totally in your entire network? Did this issue happen both on the 2.4G and 5G?
If you check the details window of the EAP653, is there any dropping packets in the graph?

Please swap the position of the problematic EAP653 and the current working EAP653 for observation, does this problem move with the EAP653?
This comparison test is to verify that the issue is not due to a physical connection or configuration issue.

Hello Hank21,
normally i have about 20-30 clients connected to the Wifi with 6 AP´s.
On this AP it should be about 8 devices, but after i replaced it with the other one i got the same problem with only 2 Clients.
It happens on both frequencies.
At the time of the "not functioning" connection, there are no dropped packages.
Also tried to connect the AP with a patchcable directly to the switch and the configured port of another switch, same problem.
Thanks for helping

Thanks @MR.S,
I hope I get a solution soon, because now both AP´s have the same problem.
The third one doesnˋt 🤦♂️ have this problem.
Also a simple reboot doesn't solve the problem, It needs to be a power cycle....
Wbr Hans

Unfortunately the problem also repeats itself after a few days.
This time i didn´t have time to look at it longer, but something was off.
Two Apple devices had the problem, but an Android device worked.
Wanted to try Win, but didn´t have the time to.
After restart of the Apple devices, one device worked again, but the other had the same problem.
Rolling Mac was off on both devices.
Restart of the AP solved the problem.

Hello @Hank21 ,
unfortunately i was on two business trips, one behind another, and didn´t have the time to look into the problem.
But after these days i think the problem is now gone, with the new firmware.
I think the last time the problem appeared it only showed up on apple devices.
An android phone and Win PC didn´t have the problem.
(Only as information for you)
thanks
wbr
Hans
