Hi @Hyseas,
Thank you so much for taking the time to report the issue to our community!
1. May I know from which firmware version you tried upgrading to the 1.4.0 Build 20231114 but failed?
You need to upgrade the ER7206 to the ER7206(UN)_V1_1.3.0 Build 20230322 firstly, please refer to the Release Note:
2. Please try a different browser or use incognito mode when upgrading the firmware for ER7206.
3. We suggest upgrading the firmware when on LAN and logging into the controller locally. You'd better keep the Controller with the latest firmware version:

Current firmware is R7206(UN)_V1_1.3.0 Build 20230322 @Hank21
Run "java -version". Is your Java 64-bit?
If no, re-install it to be 64-bit.
And if this issue persists after you confirm you are using 64-bit Java, export the running log and let me know. I'll create a ticket for you for private conversation.

Is this resolved? Let me know your result.
To anyone who faces the same issue, self-check the following:
1. Check Java version like the reply above. If your OS is 64-bit, your Java should match with it.
2. Make sure you are upgrading from your main admin account. Not shared admin account.
3. You can try this at the same time when you contact us. Try to upgrade your router from the standalone mode. If it fails again, please specify in your description.
If this is not resolved, specify the steps and results you've done.
