Good day!

 

We would like to ask the group regarding our concern. We have 2 ISP. 
 1. First internet dedicated internet and has static IP
 2. Second internet Fiber 200mbps with static IP PPOE

 3. user and password for PPOE is ok and validated.

 

When we connect the ISP that has PPOE in our network  we encountered error "[Failed]  PPOE  "account name" failed to connect to the server because sending PADI time out"

 

We try to isolate the ISP (PPOE) and connect it in our updated spare VPN Router and Controller the connection is OK (stable). but when we try it again to connect to our network, in a few minutes the error occured.

Thanks for posting in our business forum.

Does it affect your actual Internet connection? We have seen this before but none of them has an impact on the Internet connection. The error seems to be on the server end. It's not responding to the PADI.

Yes it affects our internet connection. No ping, RTO when pinging 8.8.8.8

 

What we have done.

-  Current network setup 1 ISP with 5 Static and 1 ISP Fiber no static IP

- When we added the ISP with PPOE setting in our network we encountered 3 to 4 digit PING or sometimes RTO.  

- We isolated the ISP with PPOE connected it to a spare ER7206 v1.0 and OC200 Controller. We test it for a few hours and seems ok.

- We then tested it again to our netwrok. First remove all the ISP connected to our network and connect the ISP that has PPOE. Connection is OK. Then for around 15 minutes we connected the other ISP on the network.  ( Load balancing 1, 1, 1)

- Then after about  a minutes PING to 8.8.8.8 is 3 to 4 digits.

 

Any suggestion? For the meantime we are coordinating with the ISP provider if there is a configuration on their side.

Thanks for posting in our business forum.

If you have an update from your ISP, please post it here. I'll check with the team see if there is an explanation for this.

In the past and my experience, people report this but don't experience an issue with the Internet. It is a protocol to connect the PPPoE server.
