Remote Access EAP225
Remote Access EAP225
I have an EAP225 at my camp. It is hooked directly to my starlink router via the optional Ethernet cable. I was able to add the AP in Omada phone app in standalone mode.Works great. Looking for the ability to manage the AP remotely. i.e. add/remove SSIDs, change passwords, etc.. when I am not at camp.
Do I have any options without adding a bunch of hardware?
Thanks

Per above, if you are looking to extend your network around the camp, you'll need a local controller, the remote OC200 idea will not work for this case. You can still avoid the OC300, but you will need to add a cheap 5-port switch between your Starlink ethernet adapter and the controller and AP.

@d0ugmac1 And a local oc200 at minimum with the unmanaged switch for mesh. . Makes sense. Without the ability to manage anything with starlinnk, I assume this will work. I.e. DHCP limitations with wired connections.

@d0ugmac1 And with the oc200 at home, and using DDNS there would be no need to register with omega cloud controller and therefore no licensing model correct?

There is no charge to use the cloud connection for your OC200 hardware, and I find it quite useful. However, you are not also purchasing a cloud controller license, so there is no charge for this optional service from TPlink.
Yes, OC200 in the home network, with the necessary ports forwarded through your Fibe gateway and DDNS and you should be good to register your remote AP via Starlink and then control it via your home OC200. Note you should reserve or fix the private IP of the OC200 in your Fibe gateway to ensure the port forwarding works as intended.
If you want to try all this out before purchasing an OC200, you can also setup the Omada software controller on a PC at home.
