EAP670 + ER605 > WiFi speed limited?
Hi!
I have just switched from Unifi setup to Omada. I was hoping for better speeds on wifi (previous setup was usg-3p and 2x unifi ap 6 lite). Now I have ER605 and directly 2x connected via poe injectors(tl-poe160s) EAP670. Omada controller is dockerized on Ubuntu VM, running on proxmox, running on NUC. EAP670s <> ER605 links are gigabit.
Internet from ISP: 600/200. On cable I am able to get almost max speed but on wifi I am somehow limited to ~300/190.
I am doing tests on iPhone 13 pro and mac book air m1.
I have tried to play with signal strength and chanel width on 5GHz (80/160) but effect was the same. I dont know how but only once, beeing just under the EAP i got around 450 down.
I have setup AI wifi optimalization:
Right now both EAPs works on the same channel 128 (as it was set up by omada controller).

Is there anything that could be done to get higher download speed? I hoped to get decent speeds on wifi with Omada :).

@MateuszMa I have not been able to get even half wifi performance with my TPlink (Omada) setup, given best case scenario. Best case scenario being me removing all remote APs and disabling mesh, so there was just one wired EAP610 Outdoor so I could rule out MESH and as much interference as I could. Still no good.
Hope you find a solution. I will be watching this thread in hopes that you do, and that the solution works for me too ;)

@RickJamesBish Thank you! I have set up everything yesterday. Mesh was disabled from the very beggining. I hope tp-link community will help me to solve this. Ive seen people with much higher speeds on same hardware :/

I have a mix of EAP670's and one EAP610-Outdoor AP's on my network, all connected via Cat6 1000Mbps full duplex wiring. If I'm near any of the AP's, within 5-10 ft, I can regularly pull 800-900Mbps downstream from the WAN (testing via speedtest), which is nearly the maximum throughput of my Fios 1Gb symmetrical WAN connection. Once I'm more than 20-30 ft away, the rate is about 400-450Mbps on the 5Ghz band. My EAPs are managed via Omada v5.7.4 running from a Win 11 PC, I have mesh/fast roaming enabled, and separate SSID's for the 2.4Ghz and 5/6Ghz bands. Note that mesh basically isn't used because mesh mode only applies if your EAP's are communicating wirelessly to one another, rather than using a wire that is home-run back to your wired router.
When you run a Speedtest from a WIRED device on your LAN, what are the results? Also, 190mbps is about the maximum you will get on a 200Mbps upstream connection to your ISP. Wifi overhead will cost about 10 percent of your overall ISP throughput. Downstream can be limited by many factors, such as number of clients using the connection on your network, clients in your neighborhood using your ISP, channel interference, there are several others. I can tell from my own testing that the EAP 670 can easily reach speeds of 1Gbps, if you are close enough and have very strong 5Ghz signal.
You can also try setting up a separate 5Ghz SSID on ONE of your EAP's, connecting to that via a wireless client from a close distance, and running speedtests to find out if performance is any different.

@Shoresy Thank you. I will try to create separate wifi just for single AP.
RE Lan speedtest: its almost what I have from ISP (around 520/190).
Im ok (and this is expected) that I wont have what I get from my ISP on wifi. I dont have a lot of clients (<10 per AP). I have some zigbee devices around the house.

Your wifi settings in Omada are fairly similar to my own. Just make sure you're not using Airtime Fairness, as well as options that support "legacy" devices as that will slow down overall throughput over Wifi. I'm not using 802.11r, but don't think that would put the damper on your wifi throughput. I've found that 802.11r will prevent certain Wifi devices, such as IoT cameras, etc. from re-joining the network automatically if they get booted off or the network loses power.
Also, in Settings > Wireless Networks > AI WLAN optimization
Set your 5Ghz to 80Mhz, and your 6Ghz to 160Mhz, so that you're using the highest frequency bands. You can leave 2.4Ghz set to Auto. This should help boost speed on your 5Ghz band. Don't expect 2.4Ghz to hit the rated speeds, it's much slower than 5Ghz. Wifi in general will not hit wire speeds, at least not consistently, as distance, interference, obstructions, and encryption overhead will always reduce throughput to some degree.

Also, make sure you enable OFDMA on BOTH 2.4/5Ghz radio bands for each EAP you have, if the option is available. OFDMA is proprietary to the qualcomm chipset and should improve performance.
