Firmware Version:

PoE does not work with TL-WA1201 V3.

Specifcations say that ports can provide up to 30W with a max total of 64W. However I have only 1 port used and the CAT-5 network cable is only 1m long.

The specifications of the TL-WA1201 say 12V/1,5A which is 18 W, so well below the 30W.

The TL-WA1201 has a "Passive PoE injector" box included and that works, but I want to use the PoE from the TLL-SG1008P switch.

What is wrong?

  @Reusens The switch outputs active POE that uses a IEEE 803.2af/at standard, this is not compatible with passive POE.  Active POE needs to negotiate with the client that it is safe before sending power.  Passive POE is always-on power and can easily cause damage to non-POE equipment.

  @Reusens

TL-WA1201 does not support standard PoE
