You can find the 1.1.1-firmware on the international sites for TP-Link, like for example the Norwegian site: https://www.tp-link.com/no/support/download/tl-er7206/#Firmware The firmware versions are UN as in universal and will therefore work on ER7206 bought all over the world.

Downgrade to Firmware ER7206 @ v1_1.1.1 worked for me.
Now the DHCP issues no longer annoying.

The red arrow at screenshot shows CPU/Memory after downgrade.

@Fae any updates on this issue? It's been nearly two months now, and still no beta firmware, or anything at all from the engineers on what may be going wrong here? I have 10 gig fiber coming in a few weeks, I was going to purchase some new Omada 10g switches, but after this mess, that is definitely NOT happening, at least not until the router has the basic functionality it's advertised with.

  @havenstance

Don't do it. I've invested thousands of dollars in TP-Link equipment and the support is non existent, the firmware updates have no documentation, firmware often is untested and full of bugs at rollout, and there is few useful features that actually work. Look at how many people have contributed to this post about problems and count how many were resolved.

  @DannyZ FWIW Spent a week going back and forth with TP-Link official support. Here is my last reply to them and their final reply to me.

End result is the router is gong back to Amazon and I have purchased a dd-wrt install from flashrouters.com to a Netgear AC1450 because it's old enough to be stable.

----------------------------------------------------------

I have already tired every single thing you suggest, including trying to ping 8.8.8.8 when the device says it can't connect to a DNS server.

We recommend that you try resetting this router to see if the problem is solved.

-  I have done this a minimum of 10 times. It doesn't solve the problem. Why would doing the same thing over and over have a different result?

And please make sure the firmware of this router is the latest. You can check it on our official website:  Download for ER605 | TP-Link

- I told you I loaded the previous firmware because the most recent firmware had the same problem indicating it is not a firmware problem. The firmware you are suggesting I load had the same problem.

When the issue happen, please use  ipconfig command  to check the IP address of your device. And provide us the screenshot of the result.

- This evening my Lenovo Yoga stopped connecting to the internet. The IP address was 192.168.0.129. See attached screen shot. I had to reboot the Yoga to get an ip address so I could get the screen shot off it.

-  See attached screen shot of the TP-Link DHCP client list. It shows the 192.168.9.129 issued to the Yoga that wasn't working and the 192.168.0.111 issued to the Dell I am using now.

- Please help me understand how what we are doing is determining the cause of the problem.

- All I understand is an attempt to make the problem go away but the attempts are no different than what I had said I had already tried.

- The attempts are are no different than the attempts explained by myself and others on the TP-Link forum: https://community.tp-link.com/en/business/forum/topic/581548?page=10 as I previously stated.

-  We are doing the same things over and over

 - What new thing can we try? .

Response:

If you tried Ping 8.8.8.8 and get a result of lost all packets, that means Ping is fail.

And when problem happened, please check if you get an invalid IP. (The IP like 169.254.X.X is invalid IP)

If all the troubleshooting is done and you get the above two results. You can go to Amazon for a return or exchange process.

(Because your product is still under the Amazon warranty, we recommend that you give priority to Amazon for a return or exchange.)

Thanks for your patience and cooperation. Wish you have a nice day!

  @KellisR

Exactly as I would expect at this point. TP-Link is a joke of a company that has no clue how to make any of this expensive equipment they are selling work. We're all the fools for sitting around waiting months for them to figure out how to design firmware to make a router issue IP addresses... the most basic function of any router. Any paying large amounts of money for equipment with no more than a rock.

  @DannyZ

unfortunately I would have to echo the sentiment. I wished at this point I payed double and went with unify eco system. Now with 2 switches and 3 AP and a router I kind of stuck. Can not upgrade to omada 5 nor to the new fw version so I have to continue on the outdated software as I just need something that more or less works. I think the head of software engineering at TP link should resign and they should hire someone who can overhaul the system and introduce regiouris practises of testing and even go with TDD approach so that everyone is responsible and have tests at multiple levels.

  @Hendrics

yes this is the routers from hell, but the router is probably programmed as a middle school project without a supervisor, kidding aside. The TP-Link routers are really bad, I have them all and they are all equally buggy.

we have to cross fingers and hope that everything is in order with the next update.smiley

until then we have to be creative to find a workaround.

  @Fae And an update on firewall features for IPv6 (there is currently no IPv6 firewall protection for 605's).
