Model: ER605 (TL-R605)
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

Hi. I have a 250 Mb connection and a 45 Mb connection. Will ER605 be able to successfully provide load balance and failover (incase one WAN fails) without any throttling? I am using Mikrotik rb750gr3 but it is causing issues. That's why I am moving away from it.

I don't want my internet to drop for a second and use both WANs according to the ratios I set.

The switchover time for link backup depends on the interval of online detection. the maximum interval under standalone is 2mins, depending on the actual situation, and may be switched soon.
The load balance does not take effect after the link backup is set.

@Virgo , can we set the interval of online detection?

If you use a controller to manage it, you can set the interval on the controller.

@Virgo , thank you. What I have understood is that if my controller is cloud controller, minimum interval is 1 minute. If controller is either software or hardware locally, minimum interval is 1 second. Is this correct?

If I setup a software controller on my computer and my computer is turned off, will this interval still be respected?

yes that is correct, but 1 second is really low. Im running with 5 seconds and IMHO thats the best setup without risking failovers because a single packet was lost.

And there is no need to have that kind of stability expectations btw. Neither the hardware nor your ISPs combined have that level of stability of their own. Every application is able to handle one or two seconds of packet loss.

@RobertMEF and if I am running controller on a local computer and turn it off, will this interval still be considered?
