ER605 Disconnects
Hello, I'm having issues with my router disconnecting from my network on a regular basis. The disconnects don't seem to cause connectivity issues for clients or other Omada switches or APs at first but eventually, the whole network falls apart unless I reboot the router. Today I encountered the issue and it seems the router is disconnecting every hour at the same time. Any ideas on what might be causing this issue?

Early this morning, the r605v2 hanged again.
This device appears to be a complete disaster ; maximum uptime is less then 48h before it hangs again and again.
Will try to schedule a daily reboot as a workaround ; but I'm extremely disappointed.
Due to the nature of the issue, there is nothing I can do by myself to track down the root cause (as this would require to wire a serial console on the board to check its status while network connectivity is broken ; it is probably doable as most designs include this and only require to sold a few pins).

Spent hours evaluating various possible root causes without success (power supply problem, wiring problem, etc.).
Daily reboot is no help as it hangs randomly.
As of now I'm about to revert to r605v1 ; expecting the whole thing to recover an acceptable level of reliability...

So I rolled back on Wednesday evening.
The whole thing is running without any issue for more than 3 days now.
Thus, there is definitively something wrong with the r605v2.

Fae, from my experience, there is something wrong with the r605v2 gateway.
It's not clear whether it is a software or hardware problem.
The thing I'm sure about is : my setup is running fine with r605v1 ; and is completely unstable with r605v2.
I think the only way to track the issue down is to get some instructions from your engineers.
I would really like to use the r605v2 so I would like to avoid avoid sending back the device for DOA.
Regards.

I have had similar problems with the ER605v2, I have two pieces, both hang or restart by themselves when there is a lot of traffic in the site to site vpn, I have some PCs that take backups in the vpn, when the backup started the router restarted or hung completely , finally I had to set up a vpn on a cisco firewall for backup failed all the time since the router hung or rebooted.
I have now given up the ER605v2 router and bought an ER8411, this works much better with vpn, it does not restart like the ER605v2

Hi all,
i'm also facing similar issue with my system .
i can see in the controller ( software ) log that the ER605 V2 is connected / disconnected quite often and since this morning , it stays on disconnected .
I try to remove the ER605 from the controller but it's not seen/discover any more by the controller. I can connect directly to the ER605 web admin page and all is working ok , i have acces to internet ( i don't remember if login is allowed when the gateway is supposed to be managed by the controller but i guess that no ) . I will try a reset and see if i can readopt as a normal reboot has no effect on the behaviour .
Regards.

Hi,
I also faced this kind of behavior. It happens when there is a significant change in the network.
Last time was when I replaced the gateway ; after adopting the new, a few minutes after, the gateway and one switch changed to "disconnected" status.
I faced this two or three times.
To solve this I use the "Omada discovery" software.
For some reasons, it appears the devices lost there Omada controller setting ; thus they appear in the discovery software.
One just need to reapply the controller IP address.

Thanks for the hint
Will check this if problem occurs again .
Right now, i've scheduled a daily reboot of the gateway at 03:00AM , will see if it is better or not .
I can see that the device rebooted at 3AM as scheduled , then get connected 3 mins later , and i can see also that at 09:51AM , i still have a line " ER605 was connected " in the log so there's still something wrong.
I will check at the end of the day how many times i've got the message .

Hello,
so 2 days later and 1 reboot each night , behaviour is the same. the ER605 is one more time disconnected and not seen any more by the controler.
I've tried then Omada discovery utility as you suggested and no way to find the router, even by typing it's IP address .
I've finally connected the web interface of the router , so i confirm now it should not be possible if the router was under managment so it really means that something is missing or suddenly disapear from the config. The controller IP adress looks like this in the config : omada://192.168.1.232?dPort=29810&mPort=29814&omadacId=
Well , lots of troubles with this ER605-V2

Hi there. I switched from another brand to a "reliable" system - at least I thought so. But it's much disappointing with the ER605V2. I have the same trouble, the LAN / WLAN just disconnects and a few minutes later everything is fine again. This really can't be true and I really don't see any solution I can find. Please, TP-Link, DO SOMETHING.
This is not funny. If I could, I'd switch again.
Greetings,
Oliver
