I have setup a small network using ER605 using dual WAN. Ever since this setup, my WhatsApp calls on my cell phone (connected via WiFi) or on my laptop (connected via LAN) would get disconnected for one or two seconds and then come back. I am using my VDSL modem in bridge mode. If I disconnect the ER605 and connect directly to VDSL modem, there is no problem in calls. The interruption happens on WhatsApp, Skype and Microsoft Teams but Zoom calls work fine. Here's how my setup looks like.

 

 

I just have enabled load balancing.

 

I have very basic networking skills. I have setup continuous ping to my router, the internet and the public interface of my router and the appear to work fine without any disconnections. Thanks for any suggestions or pointers.

This is because of Vodafone Gigabox modem that drops packets in bridge mode. Nothing wrong with the TP Link device. Thanks for your help.

We did not hear the same issue before, it seems like a problem caused by WAN IP changing. 

Could you please try unplug the tplink router WAN 2(the 4G one) and test it again?

  @Hank21 WAN 1 is static IP (PPPoE) and WAN 2 is dynamic. I plugged the cable of WAN 2 out and it is still the same problem.

Hi  @self ,

 

I can see there is a Wi-Fi router between your mobile phone and the ER605. Have you tested the Skype call on laptop that connects to the router via Ethernet cable? (to prevent influence from switch/wireless router)
