I recently purchased and setup a simple home network using an ER605 router, OC200 controller, and a single EAP620 HD access point. Everything works great together, but for some reason the access point will sporadically drop its connection to the network throughout the day and I'm not sure why. For example, my Event logs have dozens of entries like the following:

 

AP was connected.
Feb 10, 2022 10:39:27   am
AP was readopted automatically.
Feb 10, 2022 10:39:17   am
The LAN IP address/mask of {MAC} were changed to 192.168.0.3/255.255.255.0.
Feb 10, 2022 10:38:53   am
AP was connected.
Feb 10, 2022 10:36:23   am
AP was readopted automatically.
Feb 10, 2022 10:36:13   am
The LAN IP address/mask of {MAC} were changed to 192.168.0.3/255.255.255.0.
Feb 10, 2022 10:35:34   am

 

Things that I have changed thinking they would fix the issue, but haven't are:

  • Updated to the latest firmware for each device. I did this after reading some of the previous issues in the forum particularly around date/time and DST settings.
  • Switched the AP over to using a Fixed address instead of DHCP

 

I'm kinda surprised that there's nothing in any of the logs that points to an issue. Originally I thought maybe I had another device trying to connecting with the same IP address, but there's nothing in the logs and this has been happening for a few days now so any lease that was in place for the IP address the AP is using now has long since expired.

 

Any ideas on what else I should check?

To better assist you, may I know the version of your OC200? What is the hardware and firmware version of R605?

Has this problem existed from the beginning after you ADOPT EAP?
What is the approximate frequency and does the EAP automatically recover connection after a drop or do you need to reboot it manually?
Is the OC200 always running when the EAP is down?

 

We also need to confirm with you that when the EAP is down, do all the devices connected to the back end of the EAP work or do they lose their network connection?

Did you set any advanced settings on OC200 like Reboot schedule, AI Roaming or something like this?
