Omada Controller LACP problem
Hello everyone,
I am putting in place a small network for an office.
The setup is as follows:
The problem i am encountering with Omada Controller (v5.0.29) is the creation of LACP links for the links between router and tl-sx3008x and between tl-sx3008x - tl-sg3428x. The devices are managed by Omada Controller, i have no issue in creating the LAG from the web interface (select first port, edit, profile overrides, aggregating, select next port, lag id, LACP type) for both of the devices, but after creating it no connection is established between the devices and all the ports stay down.
Upon inspecting the LAG properties (2 port, LACP type), the thing that stands out is the fact that Omada sets the connection properties by default to Link Speed: Manual 10G Full Duplex on TL-S3008X side and Link Speed: Manual 1G Full Duplex on TL-SG3428X side. If i try to set them to auto, it throws an message saying: Invalid link speed and duplex setting. If i try to match them on manual 1G, still nothing happens. But even if it did, it is not what i am targeting from this setup.
Is this a known error with Omada Controller, or my hardware type, or am i doing something wrong?
Thanks,
Vadim.

To confirm, do you have the TL-SG3428X or TL-SG3428 (no "X" at the end)?
The TL-SG3428X has 10GE SFP+ slots, while TL-SG3428 has 1G SFP+ slot only.
If you have the TL-SG3428X, could you please set the Link Speed as Manual 10G Full Duplex on TL-SG3428X side and see if it works?
Could you please upload some screenshots to show us the devices recognized by the controller and the option you have when you edit the Link Speed? If there is any error message, please also take a screenshot and upload here. Thank you!

Hi,
I do have the TL-SG3428X version. With a single link it works without problems at 10G speeds.
I have also tested 2x10G with LACP by configuring the devices in standalone mode. So i can confirm LACP is working as well.
The only thing that is not working is when I'm using them managed by Omada. I don't have screenshots right now but i can tell you the following.
TL-SX3008F: 10G full duplex option is present and selected
TL-SG3428X: 1G full duplex option is the max i can select from the list, no 10G option in LAG edit menu.
If I try to set them on auto: "Invalid link speed and duplex setting" error shows up.
Thanks,
Vadim

Greetings,
today I started building a new 10Gbit network in our company and since we already have the Omada controller for our WiFi I would like to get the advantage of the SDN also with our new 10Gbit switches.
I am here because I ran into the same issue.
Once I created a LAG (or LACP) between 2 switches for redundancy and bandwith increasement the link speed drops to 1Gbit and when I try to manually set the link speed I gor the error "Invalid link speed and duplex setting".
On one side I have the Switch:

Could you please provide the detailed firmware version of the 2 switches?
For example, TL-SG3428X v1.0 firmware 1.0.3 Build 20210615 Rel.43120

May I get the detailed firmware version of your TL-SX3008F and TL-SG3428X as well?
I can also get the 10G option on the TL-SG3428X (with Controller v5.0.30) and can select 10G properly. Could you please double check it?
The SFP ports don't support auto negotiation, so we cannot set them as Auto, the Link Speed should be manually set.

Hello again,
one more thing.
It's seems to be related to the TL-SG3428X as I tried to connect my both TL-SG3428X together in a LAG and they forced himself from 10Gbit to 1Gbit and would let mo set 10Gbit:
I build on my TL-SX3008F an isolated loop with himself and here the LAG / LACP works with the manuall link speed of 10Gbit fine.
Hope that helps,
Cheers Christian

Thank you for your valued information.
The R&D team has located the issue, and it will be fixed on the next Controller v5.1, which is already in the final testing phase.
Once the new Controller v5.1 is available to fix the issue, I'll let you know.

@vd-rd i have the same issue running on controller 5.3.1 using 10G+10G LAG between TL-SX3016F v1.0 and TL-SX3008F v1.0. I have solved selecting Spanning tree in loopback control.
