Access NAS DDNS while on local network - Loopback?

Model: ER605 (TL-R605)
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.1.1

I'm trying to access a synology DDNS from my local network and it times out.  I can access it properly from outside of my network.  I can also access the same address just fine from my local network using this address "https://192.168.1.250:5001/mo/sharing/Pti6XTjte#/item_2668?_k=hyemgi" just not the one where 192.168.1.250 is the DDNS name.

In Omada my DNS is 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 (I've tried 192.168.1.250 and 8.8.8.8) and no luck

I've tried to verify that my router is configured for loopback which it appears there isn’t a configuration setting but rather have firmware 1.1.1 installed, correct?

My WAN network is from an independent provider that provides me a gateway device that I can’t manage.

TL-R605 V1. Firmware 1.1.1

   *   Port 1 (10.10.0.2 WAN)

   *   Port 2 (192.168.1.1 LAN)

TL-SG2210MP v1.0  Firmware 1.0.2 Build 20210806 Rel.55686

   *.  Port 1 - EAP245(US) v3.0 Firmware 5.0.3 Build 20210604 Rel. 51934

    (EAP 245 port 2 is connected to Synology (192.168.1.250)

Hardwired or over WIFI to the EAP 245 I can’t access the DDNS address, from my iPhone or Laptop.  Using a separate network both work.

Running NS Lookup inside network result. (Both return correct info)

nslookup **DDNS_NAME_REMOVED**

Server: 192.168.1.1

Address: 192.168.1.1#53

Non-authoritative answer:

Name: **DDNS_NAME_REMOVED**

Address:  76.9.x.x **IP_REMOVED**

Running NS Lookup outside network (tethered to phone) result

nslookup **DDNS_NAME_REMOVED**

Server: 172.20.10.1

Address: 172.20.10.1#53

Non-authoritative answer:

Name: **DDNS_NAME_REMOVED**

Address:   76.9.x.x **IP_REMOVED**

I’d greatly appreciate any help!

@mskarl

Hi,

Are you sure that your gateway from the provider support the NAT loopback?

You can try to directly plug in that device and check if the DDNS is functioning properly.

@Yannie thank you for the reply!  I'm not sure how to test that, since I only have one port from the gateway device (Provider uses an Ubiquiti wireless link) so I believe it's capable of it although I'm not 100% sure it's enabled.  I'll ask.  In the meantime do you have any tips on how to test the loopback?
