TL-SG3216 Keeps crashing and dropping packets
Region : UnitedKingdom
Model : TL-SG3216
Hardware Version : V1
Firmware Version : 121225 12/25/2012
ISP : BSkyB / Easynet
Hello,
I bought a TL-SG3216 3 months ago. I have applied the the latest firmware but I am getting stability issues.
Everything is set up very simply on VLAN 1 192.168.0.0/24 with only 8 ports in use. 2 ports are LAG team. All ports are set to auto but run at 1000Mbit.
After a few days the GUI will not look correct, no background colours on the web menus but my main problem is the switch will stop sending packets to the default gateway. I can only get this working by saving the config and rebooting. After the reboot the switch appears to stay stable and the web page appears to view correctly again for a few hours of heavy use or a few days of light use.
This is frustrating as I want this to be my core switch. I have disabled all the additional featutres likes DDOS/ARP defend VLANs & Spanning Tree just in case it is a config issue but I still do not have any better luck.
I have changed all of the network cables and doubled checked everything, this is my home lab. Network only spans 2 physical rooms in my apartment.
I have a HP Procurve unmanaged switch that I used previously until I bought the SG3216 and it works flawlessly with the same configuration. I really want to keep the SG3216 but I cannot rely on it as it appears to be unstable! Please help me!
