Parental Controls on TL-R600VPN
Hi there,
I am using TL-R600VPN as a secondary router which is connected to my Virgin HUB 3 (in modem mode). As my HUB 3 is used in modem mode, I have lost ISP firewall settings.
Is there any simplified way how to configure firewall parental settings etc?
Please let me know?
Many thanks for your time.
Best,
Joe

Hi, Joe
If you like the parental control settings on your ISP modem Router, you should use that, and make R600VPN the second NAT.
As long as they have different IP range, they should be working fine together.
R600VPN is a business Router, it doesn't have parental control features, you can only set behavior control rules and access control rules for your devices.

@Virgo Thank you so much for your reply. Unfortunately, ISP WiFi Hub won't connect with a third party routers, unless you turn on their modem mode, in which they lose the Firewall configurations and where you then expect to rely on the third party Firewall configurations. On the other hand I don't really want to lose the VLAN options offered by TL-R600VPN router, however, I am desperate to figure out a solution to restrict adult sites and other sensitive content related to parental control settings. I guess, that this might be very tricky, right?
Thanks,
Joe

Hi @Virgo, I also have a second question related to Firewall. Does TL-R600VPN automatically run firewall or this needs to be set up beforehand?
Thank you,
Joe

You could add web group filtering or URL filtering rules, but it's only for websites, APP can not be blocked.
