HS200 switch works but light won't turn on
We hooked up our smart switch and there is power going to the switch. We were able to connect it through the app, but the light won't turn on. The switch being replaced operates the porch light and two carriage lights. There is another regular switch in the same box that we did not replace and it operates the inside foyer light. Our house was built in 2000. We see two black wires and a red wire coming out of the box. The cooper ground wire is connected in the back of the box.

@Confer5 The reason the light is not coming on is you have both black wires of the HS200 connected together.
One black should stay connected where it is, the other black should connect to the wires that you have the white on.
The white should connect to the group of white wires in the box.

@tp-link
A big kudos to tp-link for making these things fool proof. I got the HS210 KIT Smart 3-Way Switch Kit. I installed one for my stairway and the other for my table lamps in my bedroom. (BTW - you don't need both of them on the same circuit for it to work, they register as seperate switches in the app) Anyway, I installed the first one with no issues. But the second one I had trouble with. (mostly because I was too lazy to move my bed to get behind the headboard to get at and see the wiring in the second switch.) I wired it wrong and powered it up twice. I got it right the third time. And it still works! I was so relieved. I didn't want to go buy two more switches just for the one I would have needed.
Thank you tp-link for a well made and forgiving product.
