TP-LINK TL-SG116E V1 Not working with TCL 65S405 TV
Hello All,
So we just moved and in the new home I have drops pre-wired for the TVs and office. Unfortunately the wireless setup I have is 3 Linksys Velop WHW03v1 nodes. I have the router plugged directly into the primary node then I'm using the bachaul line to feed into my new TP-Link TLSG116E to provide internet connectivity to the wired drops. This seems to work well and fine for my desktop, laptop, and one of the two TVs (Sony Bravia); however, when using the TCL 65S405 with the TP-Link Switch I'm not getting internet connectivity. Digging into the switch management I noticed two things:
- Both TVs are only using 100MF as opposed to 1000MF (I'm guessing this is just because they're older NICs on the TVs and aren't gigabit NICs.
- The port on the TP-Link switch that the TCL 65S405 is plugged into shows that it's recieving good packets (RxGoodPkt), but TxGoodPkt and TxBadPkt are at 0 still. I'm not a networking expert, but to me this would indicate that the traffic isn't getting through the switch back to the velop router.
I did check and swap the cable from the drop to the TV to no avail. I also tested the cable run for the drop and that's coming back good. Lastly I took the switch out of the eqaution and connected the TCL 65S405 directly to the backhaul off the primary Velop node and this worked perfectly. Now I'm wondering how I can get the switch to play nice with the velop system and the TV... any help is GREATLY appreaciated!
